With the invaluable assistance of the Del Sol Lions Club, Blind Community Center members enjoyed their annual outing to the Del Mar Racetrack. The Lions guided members to their seats, helped them with racing forms, provided lunch. and took pictures for our Web site. Members look forward to next year's event and thank the Del Sol Lions for the help.

In August, the AT&T Pioneers sponsored a fishing trip to Lake Cuyamaca. Aurora caught the first fish, a large mouth bass. It was too small to keep, so it went back in the water. John caught the largest keeper, a nice trout.

On Saturday, April 11, the day before Easter, volunteers from Kids' Korps came to the Blind Community Center to help with the annual Easter egg hunt.
Before the hunt, the kids and their counselors joined BCC members for lunch. After lunch, the volunteers hid Easter eggs in the landscaping in front of the center, then helped BCC members find the eggs.

Main Attraction entertains at Christmas dinner
On December 21, the Chula Vista Lions Club and Harbor Lionesses sponsored their annual Christmas Dinner at the Blind Community Center. In addition to a delicious holiday meal, members enjoyed the talents of the Main Attraction, an award-winning choreographed vocal ensemble from the School for the Creative and Performing Arts of Chula Vista High School. They also had a visit from Santa Claus.
Besides serving the dinner and arranging for the evening's entertainment, the Lions Club and Lionesses presented the BCC with a check to support the center's programs.
